Yash Dhote
Writes about freight's climate footprint and what regulators and auditors actually want to see.
Yash works on the sustainability and compliance side of the EcoFreight content. The posts he writes are mostly about how a calculator number becomes a disclosure — Scope 3 Category 4, CSRD assurance, SBTi pathways, carbon credit due diligence — and where the practical pitfalls live.
He came to this from an ESG-consulting background, helping mid-market shippers and 3PLs put together their first emissions disclosures. The frustration that drives a lot of his writing is the gap between what frameworks technically require and what actually holds up in an audit; he prefers to flag both.
His taste in offset providers is famously narrow. If you bring up a low-quality VCM REDD+ credit in conversation, prepare for a lecture about additionality, permanence, and the difference between marketing prose and Verra registry data.
